Gulf South Academy is a high school baseball academy built for student-athletes who are serious about their future — both in the classroom and on the field. Our program combines a flexible academic model with a structured, collegiate-style training environment, allowing players to pursue their education while developing at a high level every day.

Led by a former MLB pitcher and professional scout, and supported by a staff of experienced coaches, former professional players, and certified instructors, Gulf South Academy is built with player advancement in mind. With access to premier facilities, our environment is designed to challenge, develop, and prepare athletes to compete at the next level. Our approach is rooted in strong fundamentals, consistent development, and a standard of discipline and accountability that extends beyond the game.

At Gulf South Academy, the focus is clear — develop complete players, provide real exposure, and prepare young men for opportunities at the collegiate level and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions

Training & Development

How often do players train?

Players train five days per week, with strength and conditioning integrated into the weekly program to ensure year-round athletic development.

Where do players train?

Players train daily at the premier baseball facilities at Northwest Florida State College, providing a true collegiate environment with championship-level game fields, indoor hitting and pitching development spaces, strength and conditioning resources, and recovery and player development support. This environment helps prepare players for college baseball expectations.

Academics & Schooling

Do players have to attend a specific virtual school?

No. Students may enroll in the virtual school program of their choice. We provide a structured academic environment and classroom support to help student-athletes stay on track throughout the school year.

How does academics work during the day?

Student-athletes follow a structured daily schedule that balances academics, baseball training, strength development, and recovery. Dedicated academic time is built into each day so players remain focused on both school and baseball.

Housing & Boarding

Do you provide housing for out-of-area players?

Yes. Out-of-area players have the option to board on campus for an additional fee. This creates a safe, structured, and highly immersive academy environment while helping players build independence, discipline, and strong team chemistry.

How are roommates assigned?

The academy organizes roommate pairings for boarding players to ensure a positive living environment and strong team culture.

Competition & Recruiting

Who do your teams compete against?

Our high school teams compete in the Academy Baseball Association (ABA) against other top academies and elite programs. In addition to league competition, players gain exposure through showcase events and recruiting opportunities with organizations such as Perfect Game, Prep Baseball Report, and Prospect Select. This combination of league play and national showcase exposure provides strong opportunities for player development and college recruiting.

Program Structure

How long does the academy run?

The academy follows a traditional high school academic calendar, typically beginning in mid-August and concluding in mid-May, with holiday breaks similar to most school systems.

Is there a deadline to register?

There is no hard registration deadline, but roster spots are limited by graduation class and position group. Once spots are filled, a waitlist may begin. Early registration is highly recommended.
