Brett Campbell is a former Major League pitcher with the Washington Nationals who has built a distinguished career in professional baseball as both a player and talent evaluator.

A two-time Minor League All-Star, Brett led the Nationals organization in saves and was named Relief Pitcher of the Year in 2005. In 2006, he made his Major League debut against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, fulfilling a lifelong dream of competing at the highest level of the sport.

Following his playing career, Brett transitioned seamlessly into coaching and scouting. He served as Head Coach at Georgia Perimeter College, where he won 80 games in just two seasons. During his tenure, he earned Coach of the Year honors twice and led his team to a national ranking as high as No. 2 in the country. Prior to that role, Brett was on staff at Northwest Florida State College, helping the Raiders secure a conference championship and a runner-up finish in the state.

For the past 12 years, Brett has served as an amateur scout for the Texas Rangers and the New York Mets, signing more than 25 players, including five who have gone on to reach the Major Leagues. His keen eye for talent, deep knowledge of the game, and commitment to player development have made him a respected figure at both the collegiate and professional levels.

Brett is also the Director of Power Gulf South Baseball, a travel baseball organization in the Southeast that he has grown from 3 to 22 teams in just three years. His leadership across both scouting and player development reflects a long-term commitment to helping athletes reach their potential.

A standout multi-sport athlete in high school, Brett was named Player of the Year in both football and baseball his senior year and still holds multiple school records, including single-season hits and runs scored at Douglas County High School in Georgia. He was also a member of the 2002 Okaloosa-Walton Community College baseball team that had nine players drafted, including two future Major Leaguers.

Brett holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education.

Brett resides in Freeport, Florida, with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children, Hilt, Mac, and Dara Moon.
